A busy start to summer term
EYFS go off to a very busy start this week.
Indigo class began the term by focusing on farm animals with their topic ‘Down on the farm’. They enjoyed reading farm stories, singing farm nursery rhymes and exploring animals and the sounds they make. Some children have visited a local farm and brought photographs in to share with other children.
Lilac class have ‘Shopping’ for their new topic. They have been learning about all aspects of shopping, including money, the different types of shops and the things that we can buy. They even set up their own role play shop.
Reception children have been enjoying their new ‘Spring’ topic this term. They’ve been learning about minibeasts and reading the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. Earlier in the week, the children were very excited to welcome their new resident caterpillars and learn all about the life-cycle of a butterfly. The caterpillars are growing very quickly and the children can’t wait to see what happens next!
