Early years and KS1 classes enjoyed a wonderful workshop called ‘My friend Flo’ this week. This was inspired by the true story of Floella Benjamin as she travelled from Trinidad to London as part of the Windrush generation. The children talked about friendships and particularly liked doing the actions imitating the ‘Windrush ship’.
KS2 children also enjoyed a workshop where they discovered what life was like was on board the Empire Windrush in 1948 and what it might feel like to start a new life in Britain at that time. Both workshops were performed by Big Foot Arts Education.
These workshops were part of the continuing work across school as part of the Connolly project.
